Subject:Good News!
Time:11:05 am.
Mood: happy.
Eddie proposed to me on Christmas Day!! I am so excited. We set our wedding date for May 4, 2007. We are getting married in Sedona, Arizona, which is BEAUTIFUL! I'm so happy and I can't wait. :-) He is so special to me and Alexis loves him also. We are going to have a Native American Shaman marry us and the ceremony will be anything but traditional. I like that. He thinks the same way I do. Well... back to work now. Will write soon.

Subject:WOW! It's been a long time!!!!
Time:4:51 pm.
Mood: curious.
Hi there. Guess nobody that I used to know is still around on here, but I remembered that I had this journal and came back to update it after getting my password reset because it's been AGES!!!! So much has changed with me. I am divorced from Matt and HAPPY. I am living with my boyfriend, Eddie, who is the best guy in the world and we were made for each other. :-) My little girl is turning 11 this Thursday! Eddie and I bought a house in Hudson that is absolutely beautiful! After living in an apartment for a year, I was damn glad to get back into a HOME. I bought my first new car, a 2007 Ford Escape (I know, I'm getting old...) and I still have my beloved Mustang and motorcycle. I'm a Diva Angel!!! I joined a lovely group of women who ride motorcycles and we have a blast. I love it! Anyway, if there is "anybody out there", drop me a line. metlridr@yahoo.com Bye bye!

Subject:I'm back to say "HI"!
Time:8:27 pm.
Mood: satisfied.
Hello there everyone! I stopped by and WOW it has been a really long time since I've posted here. My life has changed a lot since then. I'm still at the same job that I love; Network Administrator's Assistant. However, I'm not really the assistant, I am in charge of the whole network and all the computers. My boss just "manages". I really love my job! I'm a biker bitch now!!!!!! Yes, it's true. :-) I took the MSF safety course and learned how to ride motorcycles. Matt and I bought TWO bikes; my Honda Shadow and his Suzuki Intruder. I really love to ride and it has helped my mental state a whole bunch. My Mom tried to commit suicide back in November. My sister and I made up real quick and worked together to find her and rescue her in the nick of time, literally. She was in the hospital for a while. She is unable to work and is now living with Matt & I. It is a nice arrangement because I love her being there and so does Alexis. It is nice to have "grandma" there when Matt & I want to go do something alone or take a bike ride. Things are looking good. Matt recently got a raise. I had a hysterectomy (only the uterus was removed) on Jan. 31st. It was a rush operation because my gynecologist told me that I had cancer cells forming and this would take care of that. It was a long recovery, but I'm fine now. I was out of work for 7 weeks, but I still got paid due to the wonderful generosity of my co-workers who donated sick days for me. I'm feeling good and family life is great. I hope that what live journal friends I have left are doing well also.

Subject:Not posting and spending money we don't have
Time:7:32 pm.
Mood: rushed.
I guess the online journal thing has gotten old. It was great before, but I just don't have time anymore and I just don't feel like doing it. I want my lj friends to know that I'm thinking of you even though I'm not posting often. Life is ok. There has been a lot of stuff happening financially that has brought us to our knees lately, but we will overcome. Our washing machine died, so we had to buy another one $350; the Explorer decided not to start one day - crank shaft sensor/labor/fix broken door lock $650, the mustang needed a battery/belt/new battery terminals $280; but the way Matt, Alexis and I have fun together...priceless. LOL That was good. I am finally a permanent employee at my new job. I got a raise, an EXCELLENT performance review and I feel much more comfortable there now. I think the security will be at this job for me. I'm extremely happy there. :-) I finally have an office, a real one, I'm going to hang my Microsoft certificates on the wall. I love going to work!!! Alexis will be starting 2nd grade in a few weeks! I built her a computer out of spare parts that we being discarded at work and what I had laying around. We gave her a new desk in the living room (because she doesn't like to be far away from us) and she loves it. We still haven't come up with the money to pay the lawyer. If it wasn't for all this other stuff happening, we probably could have. But that's life. I'm out. Be good everyone. Later.

Subject:Our 12 Year Anniversary
Time:7:32 pm.
Mood: ecstatic.
Matt & I had our 12 year anniversary yesterday. We had a great weekend! Friday night we went to dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant, then to Treasure Island, to a comedy club and we went to an ice cream parlor. We decided not to go on the casino cruise because it really looked horrible. There was no vegetarian food there and we don't gamble. I'm glad we went out to the comedy club! It was great! So much fun!!! Alexis stayed the night at Matt's friend Scott's house. We had a very nice weekend. I'm so happy!!! I love you, Matt. :-)

Subject:Beach Bum
Time:8:45 pm.
Mood: cheerful.
We went to the beach Sunday and spent the whole day there. Not just any 'ol Florida beach, but Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota. Alexis and I saw it on the travel channel and it has the title of "World's Whitest & Softest Sand" and boy are they right! It is really like baby powder, just like they said. It is cool to the touch. I was a big fan of the water there. Emerald water with a sandy bottom; NO seaweed, NO rocks, NO shells... Just softness. It was the absolute BEST beach I have ever been to!!! Alexis had a blast making sand castles (or mountains, I should say) and Matt & I had a blast sitting in our new beach chairs and soaking up the sun and getting up for a dip in the Gulf if we got too hot. It was paradise. We spent the whole day there and then we had a nice dinner in Sarasota. We got some sun, but we used so much sunblock that getting miserable wasn't possible. I'm not a beach person, but this place was FUN! I think we will spend a lot of time at the beaches this summer. It is free and fun. You can't beat that.

Work has been awesome! I am SO HAPPY with my job that I could just walk around singing. I mean it. It is wonderful to enjoy what you do. I waited years for this and with a lot of hard, HARD work, I got it. Alexis graduated from 1st grade and now it's on to 2nd this fall. She got so many honors and awards, she doesn't know what to do with them. That's my girl!

Sunday is our anniversary. Matt & I have been married for 12 years. They really meant for richer or poorer and in good times and bad! We have been through a whole lot, but it is definitely worth every bit of it. I will never be alone and I will never be without love, that's for sure, as long as Matt & Alexis are with me. I'm finally happy. It has been a while, but I am now. I think it took me some separation to realize what there is to miss out on. I love you, Matt. I love you, Alexis. We have plans to take an evening cruise on the Sun Cruz casino ship Friday night. We don't gamble, but an evening sail might be nice and the tickets were free when I gave blood at work. I know we'll have a great time. I hope all my live journal friends are doing well, too.

Time:7:02 pm.
Mood: sick.
I got real sick and had to go see the doctor today. I have tonsilitis again. I always get this, at least once a year. If I had medical insurance, I would get them taken out. I hate it because it is really painful to swallow. I think I caught it early this time, so that is good. Just my luck too, on Memorial Day Weekend! I get a whole two days off!! Yippee! Everyone else gets 3 days off, but you know me, all work - no play. I'm starting to feel better now, so I hope I can spend the weekend in the pool with my family and relax. That sounds real nice. Alexis was sick too, but just a little cough. She went to the doctor last week. Her last day of school is this Thursday. She was recognized in school for being the best helper. She was also in the best reading club. She gets to go on her school's t.v. and say the pledge of allegiance Tuesday. She said she will skip the "under god" part. My little trooper! I love her so much and I'm so proud of her. She got to come see my work Friday night. My battery went dead in the mustang and Matt brought me a new one and installed it at my work. He also brought Alexis and she went into my work and met a bunch of people. She went on a call with me to a user's computer and I let her fix it.... shutting it down and restarting it, blue screen. I let Alexis fix it. She did better than the users do. LOL My email is turned back on now. I will see how much spam I get now. Ta Ta!

Subject:Work, work, work...
Time:8:20 pm.
Mood: exhausted.
Nothing but work lately, but at least I LIKE what I'm doing now. I worked 8am until 9pm yesterday and 7:30 am until 4pm at the first job today and 6 more hours at the restaurant tonight. At least I get paid 12:30 hours overtime this week and my overtime rate is high! :-) We were migrating all of our users at work to a new domain and turning on Active Directory on our Windows 2000 servers. I know, a little behind the times, but progress is good. I was "in charge" of this project and all went as smooth as a baby's behind. I'm so proud of myself and I love my job! I've never felt like this before. I actually don't mind working late or at all. LOL Oh, what a feeling! I'm happy at what I do! Hope all is well with my live journal buddies. Sorry about the email still being turned off, but spam -- be gone! :-)

Subject:Disney on Ice
Time:9:07 pm.
Mood: relaxed.
I took Alexis to see "Disney On Ice - Princess Classics" today. We had a great time! It was a special treat for her and I. Matt didn't go because the tickets were so expensive. Plus he takes her to sporting events and I wanted to do something with just her and I alone. She really enjoyed it. I left it as a total surprise to her until we got there. She didn't know where we were going at all. It was a great show; very sparkly and magical. We both enjoyed it very much!

I got my shirt in the mail today that I ordered from Northern Sun. It says "Land of the free (with an asterisk next to it)... *Some restrictions may apply. Void where prohibited." It is great! Matt says he won't go anywhere with me dressed in it. Oh well. It is so true.

Ok... the war is over. Where is the "smoking gun"??? Where are all the chemical weapons??? I didn't think so.

Peace. and skate on!

Time:7:58 pm.
Mood: annoyed.
Long time, no write. I've been busy with life again. Sorry to all those that I haven't kept up with lately, I'm not trying to be rude. I won't be able to receive any email for about a week or so. I am so sick of all the spam email. I deal with it at work for the whole company, then I come home to an inbox full of junk. I've had enough! I blocked ALL email until most of them get the hint. I'll let y'all know when I'm back. If you want to get a hold of me, post a comment to my journal. I'm off to watch American Idol... I predict that either Josh or Kimberly will get booted. I hope it's Josh... country bumpkin fuck! I hate country music! BYE!!!

Subject:Home Sweet Home
Time:9:34 pm.
Mood: sleepy.
Back home and I was actually ready to leave Denver and go home. I got back late Saturday night. Matt & Alexis met me at the airport and I couldn't wait to get hugs! I really missed them a lot. I want to seriously start to think about a vacation in Colorado. It would be awesome, if money permits. We'll see. I took some photos up there, but as usual, they didn't come out quite as pretty as it is in real life. I watched American Idol tonight and all I have to say is that I'm sick and tired of the sheep bitch, Carmen, sliding by again and again! OMG she fails! Clay or Ruben would be my pick. Either one and I'm happy. :-)

I get a whole day off work this Friday. Alexis is off school and nobody is available to watch her. I discussed this with my boss and he is fine with it. It is a nice change to have real understanding people to work with. :-) Alexis and I will paint ceramic and wooden easter eggs Friday. I hope we have fun. I know we will.

Subject:A Sunset To Remember...
Time:12:15 am.
Mood: jubilant.
This evening I watched the sunset over the mountain skyline of Denver from the 22nd floor of a posh hotel. It was spectacular!! I sat there for about an hour in awe. I will be saving money to be able to vacation here this summer, if possible, so that I can enjoy this with Matt and Alexis. I was in classes all day today, but had a good evening. Went out to dinner again with my boss; Mexican this time. Denver is a really cool city from what I can tell. Downtown is neat. There is a mall right next to our hotel and it has a bunch of exotic stores and restaurants. I don't have any money to blow, but it's nice to look around. Tomorrow afternoon I go home. I miss Alexis and Matt real bad. It's nice to get away, but not for too long. Off to sleep...

Subject:Denver, Colorado
Time:12:18 am.
Mood: excited.
I arrived in Denver, Colorado this morning with my boss on our business trip. I was absolutely flabbergasted by the sight of the Rocky Mountains lined up behind the skyline of Denver and then nothing but flatness up until the point where the mountains just sprout up out of nowhere. It is bad ass! I had sessions this evening at the conference and I have classes all day tomorrow, so finding time to hang out on the town will be hard. My boss and I went to dinner tonight to this nice restaurant and I had some awesome ravioli with no meat. Even our meals are free! We get reimbursed for everything - even "entertainment"! I am so glad they sent me out here. I had been dying to see Colorado and this is just a taste of what I will see later on a vacation. This place rocks! They have a freakin' Six Flags amusement park downtown!!! I still can't get over the image of those SNOW-CAPPED mountains behind the skyline! Beautiful! Well, I'm quite tired. Long day and I gained two hours in my day with the time change. Off to look out the window of my snazzy hotel! :-)

Time:9:18 pm.
Mood: excited.
I haven't been on here in a while. I lose track of time in life, I guess. I will be a permanent employee at my new job starting Monday, April 7th! I am so happy about that. I am also going to Colorado for the software seminar next Thursday!! I can't wait to see Colorado and the Rockies! I have waited so long! My bags are even packed for the most part already. I get the next TWO Saturdays off work at the dump also! To increase all the excitement... Matt and I are spending the weekend in Orlando and seeing Disturbed Saturday night!!!! It's gonna rock! We are going to have a great time, I can feel it. My Mom and I are getting along great now and I have visited her a couple times at her new apartment. She likes it there and I love having her just across the street from us.

Alexis is doing real well in school. She turned in a solar system project today and we all did it together over the past week. I know hers was the best one there. She brought home a 5th grade level book to read and be tested on and she is doing marvelous! I am so proud of her. :-) I'll be sure to tune in to live journal while I'm in the Rockies for some updates!

Subject:Sparkly Ears
Time:8:14 pm.
Mood: touched.
Alexis got her ears pierced yesterday. She made her own decision to do it and she begged us for them. She got a good report in school this past week, so we indulged her. She was SO good and sat still. I am so proud of her! There were a crowd of people watching her and they all told her she was so brave. I think I got my first piercings when I was 4 or 5 and I remember it sucking. Alexis is 7 and she made her own mind up to do this. She looks so grown up now. I help her keep them clean and remind her to turn them each day, but she is becoming more and more responsible all the time.

Time is counting down for me to become a permanent employee at work. The end of next week will be two months! Unbelievable how time flies. Colorado may be out of the picture, money is being tracked tightly at work and that is scary. I don't know their decision yet. The LOVELY Disturbed concert is coming up in less than two weeks now! YEA!!! Matt and I are going to make a weekend out of it in Orlando. I can't wait!!! Disturbed (awesome!) - Chevelle (good) - and Taproot (ho- hum). It is a small club and we will get front row!! I'm looking forward to it.

The war has been getting me down lately, but I realize that there is nothing I can do about it. It is not going to be over as quick as everyone thinks and I have a strong feeling that SODAMN INSANE has something in store for our troops. I hope I'm wrong. What sickens me almost as much as all the civilians killed is our people captured as POWs. That brings horrible images to mind. I hope they get out of there ok.

I gave blood last Tuesday at work and that made me feel good to be able to give something back. I hope everything works out.

Subject:War, huh, good god y'all, what is it good for? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
Time:7:54 pm.
Mood: scared.
You now have 48 hours to get the fuck out of your OWN country. LOL What a joke! UN? WHO? Who needs them? Bush needs help making his decisions. I see the start of WW3 in the making and all because Americans may run out of oil and because our "president" has been instructed to finish daddy's business. How pathetic is that. I hope for the best for the millions of innocent Iraqis, who are too poor to even flee. If there was a hell, I would wish that George W. Bush would be the first one admitted.

Subject:Hi there, It's me
Time:7:49 pm.
Mood: optimistic.
Well, it has been a long time since I wrote in here. I guess I have been getting my life back together and regrouping. I really enjoy my evenings with my family so much that I rarely get online anymore at home. Plus, I'm on computers ALL day at work. I really love my job! My boss broke down and told me that he is going to offer me the job when the 60 days is up and he wanted to know if I was going to accept the position! WOW! I feel so much better! He also told me about the drug test I will need to take at the end of the month, which is cool because it feels like ages since I've smoked anything and I doubt I will anytime soon. He also said that they do random drug testing, which sucks, and that if your name comes up, you have to go. So, time to be MORE responsible than I already am and stay off the crack, I mean mary j. :-) I got a couple cheap Hawaiian shirts to wear to work. One of the guys in my IT department is Hawaiian and he came up with the idea for us to wear Hawaiian shirts on Fridays, which is cool and it keeps everyone feeling happy and loose. I like it. I never thought I would actually own one of those gaudy things, though, but you never know what you will do to fit in at work until you have a great job and you want to keep it. They sent me to a Microsoft TechNet seminar on Tuesday, which I enjoyed and got some free stuff. The place was filled with nerds and only about 4 women out of 100 men! I really look like I don't fit in at those things, but oh well. Alexis is doing great in school, which is no surprise. She is so adorable and smart and I am so proud of her. Matt & I have the biggest thing in the world in common and we love it. She is the light of our lives. It is wonderful to know that there is TRUE love in my life. It's been hot lately and I'm wanting that trip to Colorado more and more. I have so much to look forward to and I'm really happy. I do miss my Mom, and I have the feeling that after she moves closer to us at the end of the month, we will see her more. I sure hope so. Well... off to the free weekend of Starz on Directv!

Subject:Rainy Sunday and Concerts
Time:12:14 pm.
Mood: happy.
It's a rainy Sunday and I actually have some time to calm down from the week. My job is going excellent and Matt's new job is great, too. He got his first check Thursday, which saved us with paying the mortgage. I think we will be back in good shape within a few months and I can't wait. I was checking concerts online and since Matt & I have tickets to see Disturbed with Chevelle on April 5th, there really is no reason to be concerned with Ozzfest, which is too far away to bother with anyway. However, He and I are interested in going to Livestock (a local heavy rock festival in the country). Def Leppard and Godsmack will be there and both are a "no miss" as far as I'm concerned! It's a two day festival and I'm sure those two will be on two seperate days, having them together would be too easy. April is going to be a fun-filled month for me! Two big concerts and a trip out to Colorado! Alright!!! Scott (Matt's friend) came over last weekend to pick up his puppy that we were watching for him while he was in Orlando (he goes out that way a lot) and he showed me his new website and told me about the internet radio show that he hosts on Monday nights. It sounded pretty cool. Lord Pentagno's Death's Dungeon
I like the way he makes fun of Stryper on there (the xian "hard rock" band from the 80's)! Check it out.

I'm outta here to hang out with my family. Alexis wants to play some games with Matt & I. I'm so glad I have those two. At least I know I'll never be alone.
